“Baseball is 90 percent mental. The other half is physical.”
Yogi Berra
While Yogi’s funny quote may not make sense mathematically, it still holds a lot of truth considering how your mind can impact your performance. Hitting slumps often have very little to do with a hitter’s swing, and much more to do with their state of mind. So while the physical side of hitting like mechanics and strength are extremely important, the mental game can be even more critical to creating lasting success as a hitter.
Improving your mental game will help you…
- Perform better
- Enjoy the game more
- Play free from distraction
- Play loose and free from pressure
- Shorten the length of slumps
- Become a better teammate
- Be happier!
